A major reason that people can’t stick with a diet is because they are often too hungry and sooner or later will give in. That’s why it’s super important to learn how to never let this happen.
Going too hungry will trigger binge eating. And with binging comes guilt.
And guilt isn’t a part of a healthy, well thought out, permanent weight loss program.
“I don’t diet, I just eat according to my goals.”
A huge factor that must be considered when dieting is the issue of compliance. While eating clean 100% of the time is a nice sentiment, it simply won’t work for most people.
The longer you go without a particular food, the more you will crave it. Food is one of life’s pleasures and it shouldn’t be denied.
It’s another reason why people can’t stick with a typical diet.

The above video is me doing cardio with my daughter Athena. Sometimes things can get pretty crazy around here.
That’s why sometimes I pick her up and do my cardio while playing with her at the same time. She weighs twelve pounds which doesn’t seem like much but when you do it for 30 minutes it’s a pretty intense workout!
I used to think that somehow, somewhere there was one solution that would magically melt fat from my body. The longer I do this, the more I realize that this isn’t true at all!
I am slowly learning what works for me and my particular body type. If it was as easy as finding a one size fits all diet then everyone would be using it.
Some people like Paleo, some like intermittent fasting. And the surprising thing is that they all can work!
“Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym.”
Once you understand this, everything else will fall into place. It has been over 1 year since I decided to get lean and get into better shape.
Now in my second year I want to take my body to the next level. I want clearly defined, 6 pack abs!
Well, another year has come and gone. It’s January and the gyms will be packed again…for a few weeks.
What is it that separates those who succeed from those who don’t? Well for starters, a clearly defined goal.
Saying to yourself “I want to get toned” isn’t very motivating is it? You need something that will set you on fire!
Wow – I finally made it! 1 year of training and healthy eating.
I am so glad I stuck to my New Years resolution and made it happen. I would like to say it was all easy but if I did I would be lying.
That being said, the journey was well worth it. And I learned a lot of things along the way. Here are 10 things I learned after training for 1 year:
“No food tastes as good as skinny feels.” – Kate Moss
There is nothing quite like the feeling of being lean. You look better, you feel better and you feel better about yourself.
That being said, there’s also a lot of confusion around the subject. One of the biggest myths is spot reduction.
A common question is “How do I lose fat around my ____?” You can’t do crunches for example and use them to burn fat in one particular area.
Well, it’s official. I’m a daddy!
Being a parent has brought a whole new sense of joy and purpose to my life. And it’s another good reason to get into shape!
I want to have the energy and mobility to play with my daughter. That being said, being a parent also takes up a lot of time.
“Failure is not an option.” – Gene Kranz
Let’s face it. Getting in shape can be simple but not necessarily easy.
It does take work. If it were that easy, everyone would have six pack abs!
That being said, there are times when no matter how driven you are, you just want to give up. I have been there and I’m sure you have to.
